Ambos t\u00e9rminos tienen en com\u00fan el mismo elemento causal: <strong>la baja disponibilidad energ\u00e9tica.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>En<strong> 2014<\/strong>, la triada de la atleta femenina se defin\u00eda como un <strong>trastorno<\/strong> observable <strong>en adolescentes y mujeres j\u00f3venes f\u00edsicamente activas<\/strong> que cursaban con una baja disponibilidad energ\u00e9tica con\/sin TCA, disfunci\u00f3n menstrual y baja densidad mineral \u00f3sea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>En <strong>2015<\/strong>, un grupo de expertos no estaban de acuerdo con la definici\u00f3n ya que consideraban que era un trastorno que <strong>tambi\u00e9n afectaba a los hombres<\/strong> <strong>y a personas que realizaban ejercicio de forma recreativa<\/strong>. Adem\u00e1s, la triada se compon\u00eda de 3 componentes, pero no era necesario que se dieran todos al mismo tiempo para diagnosticar este trastorno. Por \u00faltimo, tampoco se centraban en el elemento causal (la baja disponibilidad energ\u00e9tica). Por este motivo, se creo el t\u00e9rmino RED-S.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>RED-S es un <strong>s\u00edndrome de deterioro del funcionamiento fisiol\u00f3gico y\/o psicol\u00f3gico experimentado por deportistas de ambos sexos que est\u00e1 causado por la exposici\u00f3n a una baja disponibilidad energ\u00e9tica problem\u00e1tica<\/strong> (prolongada y\/o grave) <strong>que tiene consecuencias en la salud<\/strong> (alteraciones menstruales, amenorrea hipotal\u00e1mica funcional, problemas \u00f3seos, alteraciones inmunol\u00f3gicas y problemas metab\u00f3licos) y en el rendimiento.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Para disminuir el riesgo de RED-S, la manipulaci\u00f3n de la composici\u00f3n corporal debe hacerse correctamente, y siempre bajo la premisa de \u00abprimero la salud y despu\u00e9s el rendimiento\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El concepto RED-S viene derivado de una descripci\u00f3n m\u00e1s precisa de la \u00abtriada de la atleta femenina\u00bb.
